Outline of speech given by Marriner S. Eccles at the Investigation of Economic Problems hearings before the Senate Committee on Finance. It was at his testimony during these hearings that Eccles was recognized by government officials, which lead to his being asked to take on the position of an assistant to Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau, Jr., and shortly thereafter was nominated by President Roosevelt for the position of Governor of the Federal Reserve Board.
