The Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training (BAT), formerly the Apprentice-Training Service, was a national agency created by the Fitzgerald Act to administer and carry out the goals of the law: to stimulate apprenticeship through the dissemination of information, to register training programs which have met standards set by the Federal Committee on Apprenticeship (FCA), and to issue Certificates of Completion of Apprenticeship.
