LIBERTY BANK OF BUFFALO MEMBER OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM CAPITAL 8, SURPLUS EIGHT AND ONE HALF MILLION DOLLARS BUFFALO,N.Y. OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT JoHr4 A. K1_,DEPFE R. May 20, 1926. Mr. Benjamin Strong, 33 Liberty Street, New York, N.Y. Dear Mr. Strong: Within the next few days there will be delivered to you a copy of the "Book of the Liberty Bank." Kindly accept it with my compliments. The story as written by Mr. Francis B. Frazee, created so many favorable comments that we decided to incorporate it in book form with illustrations by another well known Buffalonian, Mr. Alex. O. Levy. Quite naturally, I am inordinately proud of our new banking home and therefore it pleases me to present to a few of our friends, this book, describing the bank's history and the new building and I trust that it may interest and please you. If you have not already been through the new bank, I would appreciate the privilege of showing you about and welcome a visit from you at any time. Most c rdially yours, JOH A. My dear Governor Strong: I have your letter of October 30, telling me of Dr. Schacht's contemplated visit to Buffalo. Just as soon as I hear from Governor McDougal, telling me when Dr. Schacht will arrive in Buffalo and how long he proposes to stay, I will look after his hotel reservations at once. It would, I believe, give the Buffalo Clearing House Association considerable pleasure to entertain Dr. Schacht during his stay in Buffalo if it would be agreeable to him to be entertained. You perhaps are somewhat familiar with his plans for his Buffalo visit, as well as his personal feelings about accepting invitations or possible publicity.I should appreciate it if you would write me or' telephone me how you think Dr. Schacht would feel about being entertained at dinner by the Clearing House banks of Buffalo./ You may rest assured that I shall do everything that I can to make Dr. S.3acht's visit to Buffalo a pleasant one.
