December 27, 1958,

My dear Mr. Secretary:
Inclosed is a copy of an open letter
which I sent to Senator Byrd in answer to a very
violent personal attack which he directed to ae
in the course of* a general criticism of government
policy when he spoke in Boston on December 10th.
As say reply deals largely with
questions of government spending end the public
debt, I felt you sight be interested in having
a copy.

Sincerely yours,

M. S. Ecclee,
Chairman.

Honorable Henry A» Wallace,
Secretary of Agriculture,
Washington, D. C.
