Eccles, Chairman, Board of Governors, Federal, Reserve System, Washington, D.C. Dear Sir: The press of March 6, 1947 carried various versions of your testimony before the House Banking Committee on the subject of banks for the current year. Some of these reports seem to be somewhaT garbled, and the^wra^ter is desirous of having a complete transcript of your testimony on this most important subject* Therefore, may we request that we be favored with a copy of said testimony before the House Banking Committee on March 5, 1947* Any and all assistance which you may give us in this will be very greatly appreciated. Respectfully yours, RSB.C ADDRESS BLYTHCO N E W Y O R K 5, N. Y. March 11, 1947. Mr. Robert S. £>urns, Blyth & Co., Inc., 14 fo&ll Street, Wew York New York. Dear Mr. ¿urns: May I suggest, in reply to your letter of March 8, that you write to the House banking and Currency Committee to obtain a copy of the hearing on March 5 which contains what I had to say about banking earnings. I would be glad to send you a copy but we do not have any, and I do not know how soon the Committee prints will be available• However, we have finished our corrections and returned them to the Committee, so I would think they might be printed promptly. The press reports, as you noted, were certainly very badly garbled. Sincerely yours, M. S. Eccles, Chairman. ET:b
