October 21, 1935.

Mr. Joseph J. hosborough,
District Director,
The National Emergency Council
for Northern California,
Sharon Building,
San Francisco, California.
My dear Mr. oosborough:
I have your letter of October 15th requesting
a copy of the address which I gave before the Commonwealth
Club of San Francisco on September 25th.
Because of the fact that I accepted the invita
tion to address the ^lub less than two days before it met,
I did not have time to put my address in written form for
public release. Some of it I gave from a memorandum and
some of it extemporaneously. I regret, therefore, that I
cannot furnish you with a copy of the talk.
Sincerely yours,

M. S. Eccles,
Chairman.
