FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM
WASHINGTON
ADDRESS OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE
TO THE BOARD

September 22, 1936

Dear Marriner:
General Wood came by on Friday, the 18th, to
see you. I took him to lunch with Messrs. Szymczak,
Davis, Clayton, and Thurston. We had a very pleasant
session with him and, after lunch, I introduced him
to a number of the menibers of the staff.
I told him that you were out West, and he expressed the hope that, if you were coming back by
way of Chicago, you would drop by and have a word with
him while you were there •
I think he is an ideal man for the position that
he is filling in the Chicago bank and do not think a
better choice could have been made. I think it would
be helpful to him to have an opportunity to discuss
the System and the banks with you.
Sincer

Mr* Marriner S. Eccles
