July 1, 1937.

Mr. M. V. Atwood, Secretary,
The American Society of Newspaper Editors,
Times-Union Building,
Rochester, New York.
Dear Mr. Atwood:
This is to acknowledge receipt of your
letter of June 25th and under separate cover of the
book of the proceedings of the 1937 meeting of the
American Society of Newspaper Editors. Inasmuch
as I spoke entirely off the record with the underĀ
standing that what I said should not be reported,
I was rather uneasy in noting that you stated that
my remarks were included, but I have been relieved
to see the proceedings and find that this is not the
case.
Please accept my thanks for your courtesy
in sending me this copy.
Sincerely yours,

M. S. Eccles,

Chairman.
