Honorable Marriner Eccles,
Federal Reserve Board,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Governor Iccle#:
I was much pleased with the emphasis you laid on
your ideas of the basis need for restoration of prosperity,
in your address to the bankers at St. Louis,
There isn’t any doubt that the method suggested
in your letter to me of August 10th last offers the correct
solution.
I am so impressed with this that I have taken the lib
erty of addressing aletter to Ur. Paul V. McNutt, asking himto
call on you in relation thereto. I sincerely hope he will do so.
Herewith inclosed a carbon copy of the letter for
your information.
The cause of democracy in America is becoming desper
ate. I know you are fright, and through the avenue suggested
by you lies salvation.
