April 5, 1937.

Mr. Marvin H. Creager, President,
The American Society of Newspaper Editors,
Milwaukee Journal,
Milwaukee, ifidsconsin.
My dear Mr. Creager;
Chairman Eccles asked me to acknowledge
your note of March 30th reminding him of his enĀ
gagement for the luncheon on Friday, April 16.
a s
you know, he is compelled to make future engageĀ
ments contingent upon the demands of his job, but
he hopes and expects to be free to come to the
luncheon and to speak informally and off the record,
as, I understand from Mr. Meyer, he had once done
while occupying the same position.
Very truly yours,

Elliott *hurston,
Special Assistant
to the Chairman.
