I agree with you t h a t he would undoubtedly be b e t t e r for the West than some other person who might be appointed. His nomination, as you know, i s now being considered by a subcommittee and I presume w i l l be submitted to the f u l l committee s h o r t l y . When t h i s occurs I w i l l be glad t o keep your suggestions i n mind.
