My dear John:
I have received your telegram with reference
t o the confirmation of Eccles as Governor of the Federal
Reserve Board.
I agree with you t h a t he would undoubtedly
be b e t t e r for the West than some other person who might be
appointed. His nomination, as you know, i s now being considered by a subcommittee and I presume w i l l be submitted
to the f u l l committee s h o r t l y . When t h i s occurs I w i l l be
glad t o keep your suggestions i n mind.
I was very glad t o see you when you were here
and hope the next time you come t o Washington your v i s i t w i l l
not be such a brief one.
