JOHN C.

HAMM

MEMBER STATE BAR OF CALIFORNIA
TEMPLE. CITY. CALIFORNIA

December 27, 1938•
Honorable Marriner Iccles,
Governor Federal Reserve Board,
Washington, D. C.
Dear Governor Scales:
Hearty congratulations on the much-needed and neatlyaccomplished drugging down you gave Senator Byrd.
The myopic vision and gross ignorance of most men who
unworthily wear the title of "statesmen* is appalling*
Ink few days I will write you a letter I have long been
promising myself to send you as as an old business friend of
your father.

January 5, 1939-

Judge John C. Hamm,
Temple City, California.
Dear Judge Hamm:
This is to thank you for your
letter of December 2?th with reference to
my recent reply to Senator byrd of Virginia.
I shall look forward to receiving
the letter which you are preparing. Needlfess to say, I will be especially interested
in it because of your old acquaintance with
my father.
In the meantime, I wanted you to
know that I appreciated your thoughtfulness
and courtesy in writing.

Sincerely yours,

M. 5* Eccles,
Chairman.
