Mr. Elliott Thurston
Special Assistant to
Chairman M. S. Eccles
Board of Governors
Federal Reserve System
Washington, D. C.
Dear Mr. Thurston:
Enclosed is a copy of a letter which I am writing
Chairman Eccles, which is self-explanatory.
I am wondering if you would please indicate to us
whether Chairman Eccles will come to Indiana by
plane or train and if so over what route, and what
time we may expect him.
I wish you would also let me know if Chairman
Eccles would have any preference as to hotels or
clubs in Indianapolis, at which place we will make
reservations for him.
Thanking you, I am, with kindest regards,

Secretary

Mr. Don E. ftarrick, Secretary,
The indiana Bankers association,
Union Title Building,
Indianapolis, Indiana.
My dear Mr. ftarrick:
This reply to your letter of May 9th has been
held up until I could be sure of what arrangements
Chairman Eccles had made. He plans to leave here by
train which will arrive at Indianapolis at 7:56 a. m.
and then to return that same afternoon, leaving by
train at 4:23* I understand that Governor McNutt
plans to meet him on his arrival. Accordingly, he
will not be in need of hotel or other reservations,
but he asked me to express to you his appreciation
of your very kind offer. The pressure is so heavy
here that he is unable to stay longer in Indianapolis.
letter.

Please accept my own thanks as well for your
