EXECDTIVE ORDER

DESIGNATING THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF GOVERNORS
OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM

By virtue of and pursuant to the authority
vested in me by section 10 of the Federal Reserve
Act (58 Stat. 260), as amended by section 205(a)
of ,the act of August 25, 19S5 (49 Stat. 704), I
hereby designate Marriner S. Eccles as Chairman
of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
System, to serve cs such for a term of four years,
effective February 1, 1940.
