I have been under the weather for a few days, and that is why I did not get this note off to you sooner. I often think of my pleasant association with you, and I wish you every further success in this very important position. Dear Mr. Burke: I was very pleased to have your note of February 7 with reference to my reappointment which still has to run tne gamut of the benate, but I was distressed that you have been ill and trust that you are now entirely recovered. I have always felt grateful to you for continuing your service in the bystem as long as you did and, as you know, greatly regretted that you felt it necessary to discontinue it.
