Memorandum to Mr4 Bccless
There is attached a letter from the Farm Credit
Administration referring to the Board a number of telegraphic recommendations of W# EL Swanson of Hastings,
Nebraska, which although they refer to the Federal Farm
Board are assumed to refer to the appointment of a farmer
member of the Board of Governors*

We are enclosing five copies of telegrams, which were received
at the White House and sent to the Farm Credit Administration for
attention.

These messages refer to W. H. Swanson as "being recom-

mended for the Federal Farm Board.

We "believe, however, that the

intent was to recommend Mr. Swanson for the farmer member of the
Federal Reserve Board.

We are therefore forwarding the communica-

tions to you for your consideration.
