Description:
The Annual Statistical Digest was designed to provide a single source of historical continuations of statistics carried regularly in the Federal Reserve Bulletin. It is of particular interest to those interested in economic and financial data, including interest rates, monetary aggregates, banking deposits and reserves, as well as historical mortgage rates, and production information.
The final 1996-2000 issue was published under the title Statistical Digest. The reports are continued in the Federal Reserve Bulletin for the years 2001-2003, and in the Statistical Supplement to the Federal Reserve Bulletin for 2004-2008.

This memorandum from June 27, 1978, from Vice President Walter Mondale to President Jimmy Carter recommends Nancy Teeter as the first woman candidate for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Included in the memo are comments from the Chair of the Board, G. William Miller, and other respected members of the economic community, as well as a copy of her resume with personal information redacted. Nancy Teeters was appointed to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve on September 18, 1978, and served until 1984.

This is the corrected print edition of the hearings before the House of Representatives, Committee on Banking and Currency, regarding the Banking Act of 1935. The hearings took place on February 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, March 1, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, April 2, 8, 1935. The Banking Act of 1935 reorganized the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and enlarged the supervisory powers of the FDIC.
These hearings are credited with the first instance the phrase "pushing on a string" was used to describe the limitations of monetary policy. See page 377 of the hearing (page 381 of the PDF).

Business Conditions Digest (continues Business Cycle Developments) is a monthly publication of economic time series covering such data as construction contracts and orders, new building permits, employment rates, and price indices in convenient and easy-to-interpret graphical format showing peaks, troughs, and recessions. The publication is a product of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This publication was discontinued with the March 1990 issue, with business cycle indicators to be included in a new section of the Survey of Current Business, beginning with the April 1990 issue.

Description:
This staff report for the Subcommittee on Domestic Finance of the Committee on Banking and Currency included replies received from the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, the Council of Economic Advisers and 71 academic, bank and research monetary economists, along with a summary of the responses and an analysis of the reply of the Federal Reserve, in response to a questionnaire sent out on July 9, 1968. Respondents were asked to express their opinions on questions pertaining to H.R. 11, a bill "To make the Federal Reserve System responsive to the best interests of the people of the United States and to improve the coordination of monetary, fiscal, and economic policy." Specifically, the bill provided for
(a) Retiring Federal Reserve bank stock
(b) Coordinating Federal Reserve bank policies and programs with those of the President of the United States in keeping with the provisions of the Employment Act of 1946;
(c) Reducing the number and term of office of members of the Federal Reserve Board;
(d) Making the term of Chairman of the Board coterminous with that of the President of the United States;
(e) An audit for each fiscal year of the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve banks and their branches by the Comptroller General of the United States;
(f) Funds to operate the Federal Reserve System to be appropriated by the Congress of the United States.
