Description:
The E.16 Country Exposure Lending Survey presents data on lending by U.S. banks to foreign sources. From 1977 to 1980, this data was published by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Federal Reserve Board. Since December 1980, it has been published by Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.
This release was published semiannually through 1983, and quarterly starting in 1984.

The United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference, also referred to as the Bretton Woods conference, was a gathering of delegates from all 44 Allied nations after the conclusion of World War II. The results of the Conference included the formation of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as the implementation of a system of fixed exchange rates, which remained in place until the 1970s.

This report was submitted pursuant to Public Law 96-389, to conduct a study to assess and make recommendations with regard to the policy of the U.S. Government concerning the role of gold in the domestic and international monetary systems. Volume 1 addresses monetary standards and includes a gold market statistical compendium. Volume 2 contains five annexes to the report including supplementary and dissenting views and summaries of statements submitted to the commission.
