Description:
Thomas Bayard McCabe (1893-1982) served as the 8th Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1948 to 1951. He was nominated by President Harry S. Truman. Rising to Captain in the U.S. Army during World War I, he then joined the Scott Paper Company, where he served as president and CEO between 1927 and 1967.

Description:
Eugene Meyer (1875-1959) served as the 5th Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He was nominated by President Herbert Hoover. Prior to his service, he held a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, helped build the Allied Chemical Corporation, lead the War Finance Corporation, and chaired the Federal Farm Loan Board. After resigning his government posts, he purchased the Washington Post and served as its publisher until 1946. After World War II, he was named as the first head of the World Bank in 1946.

Description:
Marriner Stoddard Eccles (1870-1977) served as the 7th Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1934 until 1948. He continued as a member of the Board until 1951. He was nominated for the position by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1934 and confirmed by the Senate in 1935. A Utah banker and entrepreneur before and after his public service at the Treasury and Federal Reserve, he was involved in the creation of the Emergency Banking Act of 1933 and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The Eccles Building that houses the headquarters of the Federal Reserve is named after him.

William McChesney Martin Jr. (1906-1998) served as the 9th Chairman of the Board of Governors from 1951 until 1970. He was nominated by President Harry S. Truman to fill the unexpired term of Thomas B. McCabe who resigned March 31, 1951. Prior to his service to the Federal Reserve System, he was a member and president of the New York Stock Exchange, head of the Export-Import Bank of Washington, and Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Treasury.
