Instalment accounts'outstanding at furniture stores, which have

Jewelry store accounts receivable showed somewhat: more than the usual seasonal
expansion, and at the end of December were higher than for any other month en

record. Amounts outstanding at household appliance' stores continued to.gain, .
and were well above the low level prevailing a year ago.
The December collection: ratio for jewelry stores increased eight points
to 42 per cent, while for household appliance stores the ratio remained unchanged at the November level. Collections djiring December at furniture stores
were 26 per cent of instalment accounts outstanding at the first of the month,
- one point less-than in November.
