CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS

REDEMPTION ON SEPTEMBER 15, 1919, OF UNITED STATES TREASURY
CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS
Series VK maturing October 7, 1919

To ALL BANKS, TRUST COMPANIES, SAVINGS BANKS, BANKERS, INVESTMENT DEALERS
AND PRINCIPAL CORPORATIONS IN THE SECOND FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT,
DEAR SIRS :

With respect to certificates of indebtedness of Series VK, dated May 1, 1919, and due
October 7, 1919, issued in anticipation of the Victory Liberty Loan, the Treasury Department
has to-day mad« the following announcement:
"Washington, D. C.
"Notice to holders of United States Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness of Series V K dated May 1, 1919, and maturing October 7, 1919.
"All United States Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness of Series
VK dated May 1, 1919, and maturing October 7, 1919, are hereby called for
redemption on September 15, 1919, at par and accrued interest pursuant to
the provision for such redemption contained in the certificates. On
September 15, 1919 interest on all certificates of said series will cease to
accrue.

Dated September 4, 1919."
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York as fiscal agent of the United States will, therefore, redeem certificates of Series VK in compliance with this notice.
Banking institutions are urged to advise their customers holding these certificates of this
call for redemption in order that loss of interest after September 15, 1919 may be avoided.
