CIRCULAR NO. 156.

FEDERAL RESERVE BANK
OF N E W YORK
C E R T I F I C A T E S OF I N D E B T E D N E S S
DEPARTMENT

March 24, 1919.

U. S. CERTIFICATES OF INDEBTEDNESS.

To THE BANKS AND TRUST COMPANIES IN THE SECOND FEDERAL RESERVE DISTRICT:

We are informed by the Secretary of the Treasury that the demands of the Government
have temporarily eased off and because of the large amounts received from the payment of taxes
and the liberal subscriptions to the issue 5-H of U. S. Treasury Certificates of Indebtedness, it
has been decided to postpone the next offering of Treasury Certificates until April 3rd
or April 10th, 1919.
As soon as we are definitely informed as to the date and the amount of the next issue, due
notice will be sent to all banks as usual.

R. H. TREMAN,

Deputy Governor.
