SOURCES OF PERSONAL INCOME
Personal income rose $72.1 billion (annual rate) in October, following a rise of $22.4 billion in September. The
October increase was affected by two special factors—a large increase in subsidy payments to farm proprietors
and bonus payments to employees in the automobile industry. Excluding the effect of these factors, personal
income increased $35.1 billion in October and $21.3 billion in September.
