Res. 55] To print the monthly publication entitled "Economic Indicators" Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Joint Economic Committee be authorized to issue a monthly publication entitled "Economic Indicators," and that a sufficient quantity be printed to furnish one copy to each Member of Congress; the Secretary and the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate; the Clerk, Sergeant at Arms, and Doorkeeper of the House of Representatives; two copies to the libraries of the Senate and House, and the Congressional Library; seven hundred copies to the Joint Economic Committee; and the required numbers of copies to the Superintendent of Documents for distribution to depository libraries; and that the Superintendent of Documents be authorized to have copies printed for sale to the public. Real output (GNP adjusted for price changes) fell 1.9 percent (annual rate) and the implicit price deflator rose at a 3.7 percent annual rate. The new overall unemployment rate, which includes resident Armed Forces in the labor force, was 10.2 percent in January, compared with 10.7 percent in December. The trade deficit for the year 1982 was $36.1 billion, compared to $27.9 billion for 1981. U.S. INTERNATIONAL TRANSACTIONS—Continued In the capital accounts, claims on foreigners reported by U.S. banks increased $21.0 billion in the third quarter, compared with an increase of $36.9 billion in the second quarter. Liabilities to private foreigners reported by U.S. banks increased $11.5 billion in the third quarter, following an increase of $24.6 billion in the second quarter.
