To print the monthly publication entitled "Economic Indicators"
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the
Joint Economic Committee be authorized to issue a monthly publication entitled "Economic Indicators," and that
a sufficient quantity be printed to furnish one copy to each Member of Congress; the Secretary and the Sergeant
at Arms of the Senate; the Clerk, Sergeant at Arms, and Doorkeeper of the House of Representatives; two
copies to the libraries of the Senate and House, and the Congressional Library; seven hundred copies to the
Joint Economic Committee; and the required numbers of copies to the Superintendent of Documents for
distribution to depository libraries; and that the Superintendent of Documents be authorized to have copies
printed for sale to the public.

TOTAL OUTPUT, INCOME, AND SPENDING
GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT
According to revised estimates for the fourth quarter of 1982, gross national product rose $13.2 billion or 1.7
percent, both at annual rates. Real output (GNP adjusted for price changes) fell 1.9 percent (annual rate) and the
implicit price deflator rose at a 3.7 percent annual rate.

SELECTED UNEMPLOYMENT RATES
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for all civilian workers was 10.4 percent in January, down from 10.8
percent in December. The new overall unemployment rate, which includes resident Armed Forces in the labor force,
was 10.2 percent in January, compared with 10.7 percent in December.

In January, the producer price index for all finished goods fell 1.0 percent, seasonally adjusted. Prices of finished

In the capital accounts, claims on foreigners reported by U.S. banks increased $21.0 billion in the third quarter,
