EXPENDITURES FOR NEW PLANT AND EQUIPMENT—NONFARM BUSINESS
According to the Commerce Department November-December survey, nonfarm business spending for new plant and
equipment for the year 1982 is expected to be 7.4 percent above 1981. The survey conducted in October-November
and reported in December indicated a sizable increase in spending in the first half of 1982/ the results from the latest
survey suggest that first-half spending plans may have been revised downward since the previous survey.
