This chartbook summarizes the main characteristics of women in the labor market in in 1991 and over the three preceding decades. It is divided into four sections: the labor situation of women over the past 3 decades, employment characteristics of women, unemployment, and the family dimension of women's labor force participation. Each chart has a companion table that can be found in appendix A. Most of the data are from the Current Population Survey.
